PTB Lab Tour, September 2, Wednesday

The division “Medical Physics and Metrological Information Technology” of PTB is involved in the development of measuring methods and measuring procedures for medical diagnostics. The scientific focus is on laser-assisted measuring techniques, NMR-tomography and -spectroscopy, magneto-car- diography and -encephalography (PTB Biomagnetic Center in Berlin), and the development and calibra- tion of testing devices and reference materials. In the tour, four exemplary laboratories can be visited: NMR-spectroscopy, magnetoencephalography, magnetic nanoparticle characterization, and the seven-layer magnetically shielded room.
